Over The Hill cake

This was for my sister's 40th birthday back in October. Her husband was throwing her a surprise party and requested something with a "death" theme since she was turning 40 and the house was already decorated for Halloween. The cake was red velvet with Bavarian cream filling and chocolate Italian meringue buttercream. The flowers are gumpaste and the gravestone is covered in fondant. At the last minute I added yarn hair to a skull I found in the Halloween section at the store and placed it on top. This was such a fun cake to make!

Here's one of my sister with my oldest daughter.

Hanna

Taken by my husband with his iPhone
This was a bridal shower cake for a girl in my ward. I was told she liked pastels, especially purples. The cake is covered in fondant, the ribbon and daisy are real.

Chelsie

This cake was for a December 21st wedding. The decor was all damask black and white with accents of green so this is what I came up with. The top two cakes are Styrofoam forms and the bottom was chocolate and buttercream with fondant.

Minions

Birthday cupcakes for a little boy who wanted the minions from the movie, Despicable Me. The little guy is made out of half a Twinkie, Smarties for eyes and black licorice hair. You can find instructions and much better photos here.
Sorry for the fuzzy photo. I didn't know it was out of focus until after I dropped off the cupcakes. Speaking of dropping, this is the one I dropped in the sink right after taking this photo. Of course, there was a big bowl of soapy water right where my slippery fingers were hovering. Argh.
