Tommy and Rachel's wedding
Here's the cake from my brother-in-law's wedding this past weekend. This based on a design the bride found. Reminds me of Cinderella's carriage. :o)

these are all so amazing- I would LOVE to come over next time you are working on one! (of course, I would be in the way and in day dreaming lala land the whole time, but still)
Hi Stephanie - I love your blog. I have been making cakes for several years, but nothing like the ones you make. I am trying to find a recipe or idea for a baseball cap. Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks
Brandy,
Wow, I'm flattered! To answer your question, first of all, I would use a nice dense cake that will hold up to the shape and fondant. For the shape I would use 1/2 a ball pan (plus another round underneath that has been tapered on the sides if you want it to be a taller hat). Then I would cover it in fondant. For the bill I would cut the shape out of cardboard and, after bending it into shape I would cover that with fondant and attach it to the cap. Then you can use a toothpick to make the stitching marks and any other accents. Here's a picture I found if that helps:

Hope that helps! Feel free to email me with any other questions you have!
Oh, and be sure to take out the spaces in the url. I can't get it to post on here without adding spaces for some reason.
Looks just awesome. Can you please come over and plan our first anniversary party please?? HAHA! We want to make it extremely enjoyable and custom. At one of the local Chicago event venues we would host this party but the theme is not decided. Can you suggest some inspirations?
