Minions

Birthday cupcakes for a little boy who wanted the minions from the movie, Despicable Me. The little guy is made out of half a Twinkie, Smarties for eyes and black licorice hair. You can find instructions and much better photos here.
Sorry for the fuzzy photo. I didn't know it was out of focus until after I dropped off the cupcakes. Speaking of dropping, this is the one I dropped in the sink right after taking this photo. Of course, there was a big bowl of soapy water right where my slippery fingers were hovering. Argh.

Cupcake Tower

This was a wedding back in August. The cupcakes were chocolate and lemon with fondant accents on top and real flowers tucked in between and on the top tier.

Katie's Baby Shower

This cake was for a baby shower for one of the youth leaders at church. Obviously, she's having a girl. ;o)

Puppy cake

 

This cake was for my daughter's 4th birthday. I carved up two 9 inch cakes then frosted with a grass tip. The tongue and eyes are candy.

Sweet 17

Orange Cream Confetti Cake with buttercream and fondant. This was for my niece's 17th birthday. She wanted a doll cake like the one she had when she was little. This was our somewhat grown-up version.

New Moon Party

New Moon party cake. Ruffled tulip is gumpaste. Cake is red velvet with chocolate mousse filling with buttercream and fondant. Ribbons and buttons are non-edible.

Bride wanted me to replicate a cake she had a picture of. Bottom is chocolate with chocolate mousse and top 2 are lemon with lemon curd. All 3 tiers are 3-layer, 6-inch cakes.
