Fuhriman Wedding

This cake was marbled vanilla, chocolate and funfetti (the trend is catching!) with bavarian cream filling and fondant.
The bride wanted to surprise her dinosaur-loving groom with his own cake. Plus, he really wanted a spice cake, which she wasn't too keen on so this was a happy compromise! The cake was spice flavored with cream cheese filling and frosting. Rocks are candy coated chocolate rocks from Winco (in case you were wondering).

Relief Society Birthday

This was a cake to celebrate the birthday of our church women's organization, the Relief Society. The cakes were chocolate and vanilla with buttercream frosting. I had fun doing the ruffles and adding all the dainty little colored pearls.

Breaking Dawn 2 Party

This was the cake requested by my friend for her Breaking Dawn 2 party.

Cake was chocolate and red velvet with fondant decorations. For the black squares I found these wonderful things called Sugar Sheets made by Wilton.

I got mine at Jo-Ann Fabrics with my 40% off coupon. They're wonderful for hard colors to mix like red and black. However, if you still want to mix your own, be sure to use Americolor super red or super black gel colors.

Pyne Wedding

This was a fun wedding cake. Bride and groom wanted the top layer chocolate, middle layer funfetti and the bottom layer styrafoam. Never seen a funfetti wedding cake before, but  what a fun choice that says so much about the bride and groom's personalities! Can you imagine everyone's reaction when they cut into that cake?

Anyway, onto the details . . . Like I said, top cake was dark chocolate with buttercream frosting and the middle layer was a white almond sour cream cake with sprinkles added. All three were covered in delicious homemade fondant. The flowers were fresh orchids.

Over The Hill cake

This was for my sister's 40th birthday back in October. Her husband was throwing her a surprise party and requested something with a "death" theme since she was turning 40 and the house was already decorated for Halloween. The cake was red velvet with Bavarian cream filling and chocolate Italian meringue buttercream. The flowers are gumpaste and the gravestone is covered in fondant. At the last minute I added yarn hair to a skull I found in the Halloween section at the store and placed it on top. This was such a fun cake to make!

Here's one of my sister with my oldest daughter.
